DAY 1

• AI’s probabilistic nature, addressing hallucinations and implementing risk mitigation strategies

• Effective prompting: why context outweighs syntax; foundational structures; and best practices for starting new conversations
• Custom Instructions for specific user profiles: defining roles, priorities, and communication tone
Practical Application
• Exercise 1 — Construct a comprehensive prompt to address a customer complaint

Module 2 — Projects, Artifacts and Skills
Leverage Projects to establish persistent workspaces with dedicated knowledge bases, including manuals, technical sheets, and standards. Explore Artifacts as a production environment within the chat interface. Additionally, create standardized working instructions through Skills.

DAY 2
Module 3 — Cowork, agents and Microsoft 365 integration
Moving beyond the concept of AI as a chatbot, this module demonstrates how to treat Claude as a work partner capable of operating in the background on real-world day-to-day data.

• Claude Desktop: Installation, system requirements, authentication, initial configuration, and key differences from browser-based usage
• Claude in Chrome: Installing the official extension, managing permissions, practical use cases, limitations, and security best practices
• Claude Mobile: Utilizing the app in mobile contexts, cross-device synchronization, and best practices for mobile work
• Cowork: An overview of its functionality and scenarios where it provides value
• Microsoft 365 connector: Establishing connections to Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams
• Multi-step tasks: Executing sequences of search, read, summarise, write, and send
• Scheduled tasks: Implementing Scheduled Prompts
• MCP: The Model Context Protocol and the broader Connectors ecosystem
• Identifying Cowork’s current limitations and strategies to work around them
Practical Application:
• Exercise 6 — Set up a Cowork project and structure its folder system
• Exercise 7 — Configure a complete Cowork project incorporating Skills, instructions, and folders. Validate this setup by testing it on a complex task.
Module 4 — Claude in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Learn to integrate Claude with Microsoft 365 applications, including documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. This module shows how to leverage your own files to accelerate analysis, writing, review, and the preparation of professional work materials.

• Excel: Data analysis, formula generation, table cleaning, indicator interpretation, and drafting executive summaries
• Word: Reviewing and rewriting content, structuring documents, and creating proposals, reports, minutes, and professional communications
• PowerPoint: Transforming content into narrative presentations, scripting talks, refining key messages, and adapting content for specific target audiences
Practical Application:
• Exercise 8 — Utilize Claude to analyze an Excel spreadsheet and generate an executive summary with conclusions and recommendations
• Exercise 9 — Convert a Word document or set of notes into a structured PowerPoint presentation
Requirements
To fully engage with the practical exercises, please ensure the following requirements are met prior to the course:
- Active Paid Claude Account: A Pro, Team, or Enterprise plan is necessary to access Projects, Artifacts, and the advanced models utilized in Module 2.
- Microsoft 365 Access: You must have a functional account with access to OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to complete the integration tasks in Modules 3 and 4.
- Laptop with Installation Permissions: Please bring a computer where you are authorized to install Claude Desktop and the Chrome extension (essential for Module 3).
- Personal Documents (Strongly Recommended): Bring 2–3 real-world files (such as a PDF manual, an Excel spreadsheet, or a Word report) to use during the hands-on sessions. Please ensure these documents do not contain strictly confidential data.
