Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you will have the ability to:
- Explain the foundational concepts and principles of an AIMS according to ISO/IEC 42001
- Interpret ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AIMS from an implementer’s point of view
- Plan and initiate AIMS implementation based on ISO/IEC 42001, utilizing PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and other best practices
- Support organizations in managing, maintaining, and improving their ISO/IEC 42001-compliant AIMS
- Prepare organizations to undergo third-party certification audits
Course Structure
Day 1: Introduction to ISO/IEC 42001 and initiating the AIMS implementation process
Day 2: Strategic planning for AIMS implementation
Day 3: Execution of AIMS implementation
Day 4: Monitoring, continual improvement, and readiness for certification audits
Day 5: Certification examination
Upon successful completion of this training, you will be equipped to:
- Articulate the core concepts and principles underpinning an AIMS as defined by ISO/IEC 42001
- Analyze the ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for an AIMS from the perspective of an implementer
- Initiate and strategize the implementation of an AIMS using ISO/IEC 42001, leveraging PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and industry best practices
- Assist organizations in the operational maintenance and continuous enhancement of their ISO/IEC 42001-based AIMS
- Prepare organizations for third-party certification audits
Examination
The “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer” examination fulfills all PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) requirements. It assesses the following competency domains:
Domain 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS)
Domain 2: AIMS requirements
Domain 3: Planning for AIMS implementation based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 4: Implementation of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 5: Monitoring and measurement of an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
Domain 6: Continual improvement and preparation for AIMS certification audits
Certification Tiers and Eligibility
Following a successful exam, you may apply for specific credentials based on your professional background and project involvement. Certification is granted upon meeting all requirements for the selected tier, including adherence to the PECB Code of Ethics.
1. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Provisional Implementer

Examination Requirement: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

2. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Implementer

Examination Requirement: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

Professional Experience: Two years of total experience, including at least one year in artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: Minimum of 200 hours of project-related activities

Additional Requirements: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics
3. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer

Examination Requirement: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

Professional Experience: Five years of total experience, including at least two years in artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: Minimum of 300 hours of project-related activities

4. PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Senior Lead Implementer

Examination Requirement: PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam or equivalent

Professional Experience: Ten years of total experience, including at least seven years in artificial intelligence

AIMS Project Experience: Minimum of 1,000 hours of project-related activities

General Information
- The course fee includes both certification and examination costs.
- Participants receive comprehensive training materials comprising over 400 pages of content, including practical examples, exercises, and quizzes.
- Attendees who complete the course are awarded a certificate of completion valued at 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits.
- Candidates who complete the course but do not pass the examination may retake it once, free of charge, within 12 months of their initial attempt.
